Linda Barrett Obituary

Linda Barrett, 59, former resident of Hot Springs, AR gained her angel wings March 2, 2021 with her family by her side. Linda was born to Linda Sue and Harry Barrett on July, 5 1961 and she was indeed a little firecracker. She was fun, loud, beautiful and loved to laugh. She brought excitement wherever she went and loved all genres of music. If a favorite song came on - no matter where you were - she wasn’t afraid to dance and sing along. She loved fiercely and showed compassion to people and animals alike. As the co-owner of the Educated Animal Zoo she poured her energy into training and taking care of animals - entertaining the customers with the animals’ talents was just the icing on the cake. She challenged herself later in life to go back to school and served as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Mercy hospital. She loved her work and was an excellent nurse. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and boy, did she spoil them. She also enjoyed going on trips, fishing, scoring good deals at thrift stores, loving on the dogs, listening to music, and splurging on treats for her grand babies. Most importantly, she knew Jesus and she knew she was going to paradise after her courageous battle with cancer. The rest of us were just blessed to enjoy the journey with her for a short time. She is survived by daughter, Susan (Jason) Brungardt; son, Robert (Amanda) Duncan; six grandchildren, Barrett, Mark, Paisley, Madeline, Isabelle, Robert; and siblings, Jamie Balke, Lori Meehan, James Patman, Lonnie Patman, and Curtis Barrett. She was proceeded in death by her husband Mark Duncan, grandson William Duncan, mother Linda Sue Duke, father Harry Barrett, and baby sister Susan Barrett. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Caruth Village Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village with memorial service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Reid and Rev. Jimmy Dale Turner officiating. It will also be streamed online at the Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Facebook Page. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Jessieville. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home, or memorials may be made to http://gofund.me/0493a515.
