Cross- Leis (nee Dougall), Shirley

With broken hearts we announced the passing of our dear mother. She passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8th at the age of 83 in WRH Met Campus. Beloved wife of the late Jack Cross (1989). Loving mother of Shelly Fitzpatrick, Joanne Van Lare, Frank Cross (Angela), John Cross (Jen) and Jennifer Laporte (Ed). Cherished grandma of Christopher (Lynsay), Branden (Jessica), Jodi (Darcy), Cynthia (Derrick), Krystal (Anh Tuan), Jonathen (Angelina), Ashley, Kylie, Keegan, Megan, the late Elery and great grandma of Dillon, Reed, Jayden, Skyler, Marissa, Cohen, Miranda (Ryan), Cassidy, Tyler, Katie, Bryson, Vivian, Rocco, Harmony and Curtis.

Shirley was a kind soul and person to everyone that she encountered. She had a generous heart and loved to talk and share stories with others. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone she could. She had a love for going to the casino, playing bingo, attending concerts and dances. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Often you would see Shirley with her two favourite cats Baby and Jasper. She was a collector of many things and always saw the value of everything that was in front of her. Her love for country music was evident as she always had it playing in the background in her home. She will be sadly missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of many.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family funeral visitation will take place on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. Windsor 519-253-7235. Cremation to follow at Windsor Crematorium.

A family gathering and committal service will take place at a later date.
