Stephen Adolphus Fincher Obituary

Stephen Adolphus Fincher, born on January 16, 1947, of Avery, Texas passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home February 27, 2021.  Stephen was born and raised in Gainesville, Texas.  He served in the U.S. Army.  In 1973, he began his career with Acme Brick Co. in the maintenance department and in 2013 retired as Regional Production Manager. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Fincher of Avery, Texas; one daughter, Melissa Culp (Gary) of Avery, Texas;  one son, Scott Fincher (Kristin) of Humble, Texas; four grandchildren, Jayden Culp, Michael Fincher, Hailey Fincher, and Henry Fincher; two brothers, George Guffee (Judy) of Sadler, Texas and Robert Guffee (Kay) of Van Alstyne, Texas; two sisters, Mary Guffee of Sadler, Texas and Betty Brill (Bud) of Whitesboro, Texas; and his sidekick, Cissy Beth and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Due to Covid restrictions, private family services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 with Roddy Jackson and Tillman Deaton officiating.  Interment will follow at Avery Cemetery in Avery, Texas. Mr. Fincher will lie in state 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Pallbearers: Robert Guffee, Corey Guffee, Brandon Guffee, Shaun Guffee, Alan Lee, and Samuel Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers: George Guffee, Harvey Carter, Brent Cate and Bruce Duncan.    Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
