Cindy L. Kern, age 55, of Frazee, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at St. Mary's Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2016, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN, with visitation to begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be made at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee, MN. The family requests casual attire. Cindy was born January 6, 1961, in Litchfield, MN, to Clarence and Helen (Halbrehder) Taylor. She grew up in Wabasha, MN where she attended school. Cindy was married and lived in Minneapolis for a number of years and was blessed with three children. The couple later divorced. Cindy moved to Little Falls, MN, where she met and married Harvey Kern on September 24, 1994. The couple made their home in Frazee, MN. Cindy worked as a cook at a local restaurant for a number of years before gaining employment with the Frazee Care Center in housekeeping where she worked for a number of years. Cindy enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. She had a great love for animals and enjoyed her pets. She loved the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Kern of Frazee; 3 children: Angie Mustain, Dustin Mustain and Derek Mustain; 9 grandchildren; along with several siblings. Preceding Cindy in death were her parents.
