Steven Mayer, passed away peacefully at the Stamford Hospital on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the age of 64. Steven was born in Laurelton, Queens, NY on January 24, 1957, son of the late Sidney and Marion Kurlansik Mayer. He grew up in North Woodmere, NY and attended SUNY Binghampton. Steve was big of heart, mind, soul and body. He was passionate about music, wineries, scotch, sports and his many friends. He was very outgoing, talking to everyone he encountered, although he always claimed to be shy. He will be missed. Steve is survived by his devoted wife Nancy L. Mayer of Stamford, and their loving son Brett S. Mayer of Queens, NY. Steve is also survived by his sister Maxine Weisinger of Long Island, NY, a brother Ross Mayer and his wife Joni of Sharon, MA., a sister Sharon Butow and her husband Mel of Brookfield, CT, and a brother-in-law Warren Greshes and his wife Linda of North Carolina. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT, on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 from 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon. A prayer service will be held at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be privately held.
