Beatrice Evelyn Ellacott
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at Parkwood Veterans Long Term Care on Saturday, February 27th, 2021 Bea Ellacott (nee Burton) in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Ellacott (2003). Loving mother of Barbara Chapman, Dave (Deb) Ellacott, Richard (Cindy) Ellacott, Joe (Julie) Ellacott, Anne (Gus) Loukas and Cheri Ellacott (Pete Farnham). Proud grandma of 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Survived by her treasured nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Les Burton and her sisters Barb Guiho and Irene Pearson. Bea was a proud veteran having served her country overseas as a Wren during WW11. She became an active member of the Delaware Legion, Branch 598, serving on the Executive of the Ladies Auxiliary for over 40 years. She loved playing darts, euchre, cribbage, shuffleboard and bowled in a league and continued to do so even as a resident of Parkwood. She often had to promise other residents that she would let them win occasionally. Her service also included many years of involvement with the local chapter of the Girl Guides of Canada. She could also be found in the kitchen of the Delaware Community Centre preparing and serving meals to her community. She supported many individuals as a compassionate and dedicated caregiver. Never one to sit on the sidelines, Bea remained active and taught The Wellness Program sponsored by the VON until age 85. Her family often benefited from her talents as an expert seamstress. Bea was well loved as the matriarch of our family and the memories of the many gatherings in the back yard in Delaware will be cherished by all of her children and grandchildren. Bea’s spirit and determination are a wonderful example of a life well lived. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private family celebration of Bea’s life will be held at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, Mount Brydges on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Interment Mount Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Wyoming, Ontario. Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Delaware – Branch 598 (11577 Longwoods Road, Delaware, ON, N0L 1E0) or Parkwood Veterans Long Term Care (550 Wellington Road, South, London, ON, N6C 0A7) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
