LILESVILLE – On Saturday, February 27, 2021, Mr. Donald Lee Mason, 72, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife at the home of his daughter. There will be a memorial service at 11:00am Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Cathedral Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Swaringen officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Donald was born August 12, 1948 in Mecklenburg County, NC and was a son of the late Hattie Mae Mason. He was raised by his grandmother, the late Lillie Mason. He was a carpenter and built homes. Those left to cherish him memory are his daughters, Audrey Spicer (Anthony) of Mooresville, Carla Ward of Monroe, Terrisa Smith (Kevin) and Helen Mason both of Lilesville and Amber Mason of Hamlet; his grandchildren, Cyrus Spicer, P.J. Ward, Macayla Mason, Mason Smith and Trenton Smith and his great-grandchildren, Greyson Ward and Jaxon Ward. He enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting, as well as fishing. In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in rodeos, bull riding and horseback riding. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
