<p>Herbert Howard Mintz died on February 27, 2021,after living 4 1/2 years with pancreatic cancer. He was 74 years old. Left behind to miss him forever are his wife of 51 years, Bobbe, his two daughters, Bara Hollander (Jon) and Stephanie Mintz (Noah Steinberg), his four perfect grandchildren, Andrew, Megan and Mathew Hollander, and Joseph Steinberg, two brothers, Arnold Mintz (Helen) and Bill Mintz (Lillyan), Lois and Jay Steinberg, nine nieces and nephews and fourteen grandnieces and nephews as well as myriad friends, colleagues and devotees of the topics he chose to write and speak about in his retirement.</p> <p>Herb was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 24, 1946.After attending Cooper Union where he graduated with a degree in chemical engineering and George Washington University School of Law, Herb served for two years as a law clerk to a federal appellate judge and joined the patent law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett and Dunner where he spent his entire career practicing patent litigation, including an appearance before the United States Supreme Court.</p> <p>Herb also was a composer of many children and adult musicals along with his dear friend and creative partner, Frank DiCostanzo (Joan) who wrote the book and lyrics. A private graveside burial will be held on March 1, 2021. A funeral will take place on Zoom.
