Susan (Berry) Banta<br><br>Susan Banta passed away at her home on February 25, 2021 at the age of 100. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church.<br><br>Susan was born September 23, 1920, in Louisville, Ky., to William H. and Ruby Yates Berry. Following graduation from Atherton high school in 1938 she attended business school and worked at IBM and L&N.<br><br>She was a homemaker and a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always gave unconditional love and support to her family. She valued her independence and showed great courage, perseverance and grace the past several years.<br><br>Susan was married in 1942 to Ira C. Banta, Jr., and they were blessed with 74 years together until his death in 2016. Also preceding her in death were her parents , step-mother Elizabeth Berry, Sisters Louraine McKenna, Virginia Massie, Annalee Killinger, Alene Curran and brother, Williams Berry Jr.<br><br>Left to cherish her memory are her sons Michael Banta (Marilyn) and Mark Banta (Jana); grandsons, Craig Banta (Kelly) and Andrew Banta (Megan) and great-grandsons Colton Banta and Benjamin Banta.<br><br>The family expresses thanks and gratitude to the caregivers at Home Instead and Hosparus of Louisville, who made it possible to fulfill Susan's wish to stay at home.<br><br>Funeral Service will be 12pm. Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation from 10am until the service at 12. Burial to take place at Middletown Historic Cemetery in Middletown, Ky.

Susan (Berry) Banta

Susan Banta passed away at her home on February 25, 2021 at the age of 100. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church.

Susan was born September 23, 1920, in Louisville, Ky., to William H. and Ruby Yates Berry. Following graduation from Atherton high school in 1938 she attended business school and worked at IBM and L&N.

She was a homemaker and a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always gave unconditional love and support to her family. She valued her independence and showed great courage, perseverance and grace the past several years.

Susan was married in 1942 to Ira C. Banta, Jr., and they were blessed with 74 years together until his death in 2016. Also preceding her in death were her parents , step-mother Elizabeth Berry, Sisters Louraine McKenna, Virginia Massie, Annalee Killinger, Alene Curran and brother, Williams Berry Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Michael Banta (Marilyn) and Mark Banta (Jana); grandsons, Craig Banta (Kelly) and Andrew Banta (Megan) and great-grandsons Colton Banta and Benjamin Banta.
