Margaret Hammett Cowpens Margaret Edna Hammett, 93, passed away on February 27, 2021. Born November 7, 1927 in Cowpens, she was the daughter of the late James Clarence Hammett, Sr. and Mable Hambright Hammett. A graduate of North Greenville University she started her career with Jennings Paint and Glass Company, spent many years with Green Construction Company out of Indiana that cut interstate I85 through South Carolina, and later became a real estate broker locally. She was a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church serving many years as the teacher for the Joyful Servant Class. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews, including Vicki Greene of the home. She was predeceased by five brothers, Joe, John, Jim, Eugene, and Fred Hammett; and three sisters, Mary Terry, Dot Pridemore and Sue Glick. Memorial Services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, March 06, 2021 at Cowpens First Baptist Family Life Center with Pastor Kermit Morris, and nephews Jeff Terry, and Rick Hammett officiating.. The family will receive friends from 12PM until 1PM prior to the service. Interment will be held Cowpens Cemetery.
