Odie E. Kozy, 88, passed away on February 22, 2021.
Odie was born on May 11, 1932 in Brookville, PA to the late William & Mildred Lowers and had been an Akron resident for most of her life. She was a 1950 graduate of Central High School. Odie was a longtime member of Firestone Park Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess. Odie enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.
In addition to her parents, Odie was preceded in death by her husband Steve Kozy and daughter Cindy Kozy; sister Vivian & brother Edward. She is survived by her daughters Deborah (Elgie) Hendrixson, Kathy (James) Shelgosh, & Lori (Bill) Walch; grandchildren Lisa Hendrixson, Michael (Maria) Walch, & Jennifer (Frank) Kuveikis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral will take place on Saturday, February 27, at 12:00 pm. Masks and social distancing are required. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.
