<p>Randall (Randy) Lee Van Pelt was born on August 12, 1962 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of 3 children born from the union of his parents: the late Robert Van Pelt and the late Ruth Tate.&nbsp; He received his education by attending Lindsborg High School in Lindsborg, Kansas and graduating with the class of 1981.</p> <p>Randy moved back to Michigan in 1993 after moving to Kansas as a child with his mother. He has worked at many restaurants over the years. He enjoyed cooking and creating in the kitchen. After 25 years at the Chateau Louise, he had to end his career after falling ill in 2020.</p> <p>He enjoyed spending time with family. Even though he did not have any animal of his own he loved spending time with his buddies. To name a few, Bear, Spook, Sugar, Spooky, Blue, Kane, Schornstien, Rocky, Rocco, Copper, Sunny, Gracie, Bella Boo and T2.&nbsp; He loved all the family pets. He only had one that did not like him and that was Sage. She wanted nothing to do with him and to this day we have no idea why.</p> <p>He spent countless hours doing what he loved, shooting pool with his pool family at Rack Time and other places. He loved rooting on his friends and always showed his support when he was not the one behind the stick.&nbsp; RVP loved you all!</p> <p>Randall Lee Van Pelt, age 58, Passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 surrounded by his family. His passing is preceded by his brother: Robert Van Pelt, and his parents and stepfather Richard Tate.</p> <p>To cherish his memory, he leaves his brothers Ross (Kathy) Van Pelt, Russell(Ashley)Korch, sister-in-law Carla Van Pelt, his nieces and nephews Tiffany, Nissa, Rob, Richard, Christen, Adam, Elizabeth, Rachel, Christopher, Justin, Austin, and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.</p> <p>A special thank you to Amy and Alma who cared for Randy in his final days at the Pooley home. Cousins by blood but he was a brother in their hearts.</p> <p>Friends and family may gather for a limited visitation <strong>(masks must be worn, 30 guests in the funeral home at a time, and social distancing will be observed inside facilities; please limit visiting to 10 min. or less so others may come in to pay their respects)</strong> on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 after 3 PM until a Celebration of his Life at 7:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home, Toledo 1757 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, Ohio (419)740-6151. Private burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses via this website.</p>

Randall (Randy) Lee Van Pelt was born on August 12, 1962 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of 3 children born from the union of his parents: the late Robert Van Pelt and the late Ruth Tate.  He received his education by attending Lindsborg High School in Lindsborg, Kansas and graduating with the class of 1981.

Randy moved back to Michigan in 1993 after moving to Kansas as a child with his mother. He has worked at many restaurants over the years. He enjoyed cooking and creating in the kitchen. After 25 years at the Chateau Louise, he had to end his career after falling ill in 2020.
