Derek Romanchuk
February 16, 1985 – February 25, 2021
Our hearts are beyond crushed to announce the tragic passing of our son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend. Derek Romanchuk, life-long resident of Drayton Valley, Alberta passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the age of 36 years. Derek was loud from the time he was born and just kept on being loud; when he was in the room, you knew it! He was excessively fun and his humour, it was dry. Derek was trusting and dependable, especially for telling it like it was. Amongst his many qualities, Derek is remembered for his hard work, drive and ability to capture the hearts of those who were fortunate to be a part of his life. Derek will eternally be loved and remembered by his parents, Danny Romanchuk and Janice Dunne; brother, Darren Romanchuck; sister-in-law, Maddy Romanchuk; nephews, Owen and Tyler Romanchuk; grandfather, James Dunne, as well as numerous extended family and a ton of friends.
Derek is predeceased by his grandad and grandma, Hank and Dylis Romanchuk and grandma, Noreen Dunne.
Be loud, laugh hard, remember me…
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, it would be impossible to honour and commemorate Derek’s life in a way that would include all who were special to him. Rather, we will wait until restrictions have been lifted and gather the way Derek would have liked.
For those who so desire, memorial contributions in Derek’s name may be made directly to Drayton Valley Health Foundation – Dialysis Unit.
