Philip E. Masterson

<p>Masterson, Philip E., 89, of Louisville, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at his residence.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Decatur, AL, Philip was a U.S. Army veteran and retired owner/operator of Masterson’s Food and Drink, and Captain’s Quarters. He was a graduate of DuPont Manual High School, and attended the University of Louisville. </p><p><br></p><p>He was past president of the Kentucky Restaurant Association, and a member of the Bellarmine University President’s Society. He was also a supporter of the Catholic Education Foundation and Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Philip was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Agnes Flynn Masterson; and a brother, Thomas Masterson (Marianthe).</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife, Jane Humphreys Masterson; his children, Mary Fisher Promenchenkel (Greg), Susan Sinkhorn Porter (David), Chris Lebrasseur (Francois), Nick Masterson (Mandy), Paul Masterson (Lynette), Sueanna Lewandowski (Steve), Brian Masterson (Lauren), and Andrew Masterson (Melissa); brothers, Alex Masterson (Linda) and Gregory Masterson (Maggie Keane); 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>His funeral service will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.</p><p><br></p><p>Masks and social distancing required.</p><p><br></p><p>Our family would like to thank his caregivers, especially Kenia, Angie, and Rosie.</p><p><br></p><p>Expressions of sympathy may be made to APRON, Inc. who provides help to employees of Louisville's independent restaurant community.</p>
