Emile Theard, Jr. Obituary

A LIFE LIVED

Emile Theard, Jr. transitioned from this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. He was a long awaited baby boy born to Emile and Elsie Theard Sr. on April 14, 1962 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His tiny little frame and pale skin tone earned him a nickname of “PEANUT”. Emile attended a Lutheran Church and he was baptized at age 12. He visited churches in Houston, Texas and he is now a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pearl River, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor, Leonard E. Craft.

Emile attended Macarthy Elementary School, Alfred Lawless Junior High School, and George Washington Carver Senior High School. After high school my brother enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country for two tours. His duty stations were San Diego, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and Okinawa, Japan. Emile was trained as a machinist. In 1986 he completed his military assignment.

Emile began working for AAA Cooper Transportation Line as a mechanic where he could apply his skills as a machinist. Several years later this young man embarked upon an entirely different career field. Work that requires skill and focus. He was employed by Air Products which transports liquid nitrogen. Around 1994 Emile transferred to Houston and he continued working for this company. Later, he joined the Praxair Team in the same line of work. He transported these dangerous chemicals across the United States. We called him a “World Traveler”. Emile demonstrated exemplary skills in this field which allowed him an opportunity to serve as a facilitator in the training of new-hires.Our brother enjoyed cooking. His favorite dishes were boiling seafood and frying ribs. He was a Grill Master who was outstanding at grilling ribs, steaks, and chicken. Emile liked fishing excursions for tranquility and meditation. He spent time building computers even with liquid coolants inside. He loved reading and studying military/ war history and world news. Emile spent thousands of hours in flight simulation. Yes, he could have been a pilot. He was an avid Gamer. This young man was quite good at archery and he treasured the moments he spent teaching his daughters the craft. Emile was an amazing marksman who built rifles and he loaded specialized ammunition. He recently received a license to add silencers to rifles. Most of all though, Emile’s real passion was hunting and he had the wardrobe and deer sausage to prove it.

Emile was very proud of the arrival of his first born son, Jason Raynard Theard. Time moved along and he found love when he met and married Sonia Howard. Hannah Nichole Theard and Milah Briana Theard were born out of this union. Emile spent his down time hanging out with his family watching movies, eating takeout, cooking healthy meals, or simply talking about life.

Those left to cherish his memory are: Emile and Elsie Theard Sr.-parents, Charles Rosen, brother, Joycelyn Theard, Cheryl Theard Holden (Alvin Jr.), Angela Theard Toney (Shelby), sisters, Sonia Howard Theard, wife and Jason, Hannah, Milah Theard, children, Jason 11, Ja’Leah, Ja’Lisa Theard, grandchildren, children, Jason 11, Ja’Leah, Ja’Lisa Theard, grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
