LOUISVILLE – Betty Alma Willis, 87, of Louisville passed away peacefully at 8:08 AM, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at her home. Betty was born on May 26, 1933, in Louisville the daughter of the late Leland Valentine and Bessie Lucille (Abel) O’Dell. She married Robert Willis on October 18, 1952, in Xenia and they shared 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 13, 2010. Mrs. Willis was a homemaker and she loved to make a garden and take care of her plants. She liked to read especially the Laura Ingel’s Wilder book, and she also loved to shop, and she especially loved to take care of people and loved children, and her pets. Betty is survived by her children; Michael Willis, of Louisville, Mary A. Casolari, of Louisville, Belinda K. (Loren) Kuhring, of Effingham, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren,. She is also survived by 3 brothers; Harry O’Dell, of Flora, Larry (Mary) O’Dell, of Flora, Tom O’Dell, of Louisville, 2 sisters; Nancy Palmer, of Anderson, Indiana, Connie (Max McKinney) Jones, of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Billy O’Dell, Donnie O’Dell, Jimmy L. “Cotton” O’Dell, 1 sister; Brenda Sue Hale. Funeral services honoring the life of Betty will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, March 1, 2021, at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Brent Bailey officiating, burial will follow at the Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home where friends may call from 11 AM to 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Clay County Hospice, or Parkinson’s Association. Due to health concerns related to COVID-19, it is recommended that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
