Linda Marie Codd passed away suddenly on February 24, 2021 at the age of 77. Linda is survived by her children Deb (Bill Russell), and Darryl (Wendy Poole); grandchildren Cori (Don Thompson), Justin (Kayla Fisher), and Tanner; great grand-daughters Lillian and Emma; sister Joyce; brothers in law; sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her husband Bud, and her parents Bill & Ethel Lee. Linda was the second daughter born to Bill and Ethel Lee of Millarville, Alberta. Linda met and later married Bud in May 1962 and together they raised their 2 children, first in Hartel and finally in Millarville, on the family homestead. During her working years, Linda drove school bus; its been said, you couldn’t sneak anything past Mrs. Codd on the bus! During retirement Bud & Linda enjoyed many years of travel, often wintering in Arizona. Linda was an avid golfer and tried her darndest to spread her joy of the game to everyone in her family. She made sure her grandkids got to take golf lessons if they wanted to. Linda was a social lady who developed many longstanding friendships in the community whether through the Happy Gang or her golf friends. Linda was fiercely independent, stubborn to a fault and had the most generous loving heart of anyone. Her passing caught everyone by surprise and has left a hole in the hearts of the family and friends she leaves behind. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the nursing staff at Foothills Medical Centre CCU who took such good care of our mom/Grandma/GG in her final days when we were unable to be with her. A private celebration will be held in Linda’s honour once restrictions allow for gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to STARS.
