William Howell Ehmcke Murrieta, California Obituary

William Howell Ehmcke

Cowboy Bill, Junior, Billy Boy , Uncle Bully or just Bill however you remember him these terms of endearment show the breadth of his love for life , friends and family. HIs fondness for animals and children was genuine. Born and raised in Southern California on August 5th, 1942 William H. Ehmcke pursued his dreams with passion. He also had the ability to help others realize their visions. Bill was a born leader and entrepreneur. Starting as young wrestler in High School, to the depths of the Ocean, as a Deep-Sea Fisherman , a race car driver and a horseman. He built the largest Sheet Metal Company in San Diego. The family's dream of owning a restaurant was realized with The Gambling Cowboy. Bill was a great man of generosity and integrity. He was the kind of man that a hand-shake could seal a deal, his word was his word and he was loyal to the core. In 1968 he married his beautiful bride Nitza, and raised her daughter Rene' as his own. He gave them a life they will cherish forever. For the next 52 years his strength and love never waivered. At the Del Mar Racetrack Bill was a friend to all. He would give you a hot tip , his seat at the track and bring food to the tellers. He also made a few trips to the Winners Circle! At the Gambling Cowboy he would light up the room with his beautiful blue eyes, his silver fox hair and a smile that could touch your soul. He treated those who worked with him with respect and gratitude and his appreciation knew no bounds . He loved everyone who walked in the door and everyone was family. To Bill no one was ever a stranger. On February 15th, 2021 Bill left us for that Saloon in the sky. Now God will take good care of him. Bill will be watching over all of us as an Angel. His love for life and how he touched others will give his loving wife Nitza, daughters Rene' and Desiree, grandsons William and Garret the strength to carry on . Whether you are toasting amongst friends, telling a funny joke, or standing in an elevator next to a stranger, reach out with kindness- and make a friend because that is what Cowboy Bill would do. Rest Easy Cowboy
