Urban Louis Axman Obituary

Urban Louis Axman, 94, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Urban will join his loving wife of 44 years, Dottie Fisher who preceded him in death in 2003. He has missed her dearly over the years and was ready to join her in eternal life. Urban was born on February 5, 1927 in New Albany, IN and was ushered back across the bridge shortly after birth. Urban attended St. Benedict grade school and then attended St. Xavier High School for three years before transferring to Flaget for his senior year to graduate in the first class of Flaget High School in 1945. He served in the 1389 division of the Air Force and is a veteran of World War II. Urban met his soulmate, Dottie Fisher, in 1958 and they were married on June 29, 1959 and were blessed with two children. Urban was an associate of A.J. Schneider company and worked for the company for over 30 years managing several office buildings in downtown Louisville. Through this work, Urban met many fine friends in the Louisville business world. He was a devout Catholic and he was also a member of the Golden Key Club, the AAA and an avid pinochle player. Urban was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Fisher Axman, his parents, Mary and Martin Axman and all of his siblings, brothers Martin, John, and Charles and sisters Mary (Scanlon), and Nadine (McCabe). He is survived by his son Don, his daughter Anne (Brown), his son-in-law Eric Brown, Grandchildren Madison, Trent, Grant, and Ally, and one great-grandchild Reagan. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckenridge Ln, Louisville, KY 40207, at 10 AM on Friday, February 26, 2021 with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY 40218. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes or the Little Sisters of the Poor. There will be a live stream of the service.
