Lee Martin Sanders

Lee Martin Sanders, 88, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at his home in Perry surrounded by family. He was born in Enid, Oklahoma on October 15, 1932 to Ray and Marjorie (Riddle) Sanders. He married Patricia McClure on June 1, 1952 in Red Rock, Ok. They were married 68 years. From this union were born 3 sons, Russell Lee, Mark Allen and Michael Ray. Lee graduated from Red Rock High School in 1950 and later attended Oklahoma A&M where he earned a degree in Agriculture Economics. Lee also received an American Farmers Degree. He was a charter member of the Red Rock Masonic Lodge #308, and was a member of the Perry First Christian Church. Lee spent many years farming and ranching alongside his dad. After he and Pat were married Lee continued to farm and raise cattle. They also owned and operated McClure hardware store in Red Rock. In 1976, he quit farming and moved to Perry. He started working for Baker Manufacturing as a salesman. In 1979, he moved to Enid to manage the Baker Manufacturing Branch. Lee enjoyed lots of hunting and finishing trips. He loved to go to Colorado elk hunting with family and friends. Lee and Pat had a lot of fun going to south Texas in the winter. Lee is survived by his wife Pat of the home; 3 sons, Russell Lee and wife Kathy of Cape Coral, Florida, Mark Allen and wife Shirley of Red Rock, Oklahoma, Michael Ray and wife Renee of Cashion, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Brian and wife Kim Sanders of Gerber, California, Martin and wife Cara Sanders of Edmond, Oklahoma, William and wife Amanda Sanders of Perry, Oklahoma, Meagan and husband Brock Phillips of Cherokee, Oklahoma, Madison Sanders and Kendra Bryant of Cashion, Oklahoma. 7 great-grandchildren, McKenna and Jaxon Sanders and Kynsley and Kyler Sammons all of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brynlee Belveal and Wyatt Sanders of Perry, Oklahoma, and Aspen Phillips of Cherokee, Oklahoma. Two sisters-in-law, Lisa Sanders of Red Rock, Oklahoma, and Barbara Sue Garvie of Morrison, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; and 1 brother, Gene Sanders. Visitation will be noon to 8PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Dighton-Marler Fuenral Home of Perry. Family will receive guests from 6PM to 8PM. A Celebration of Lee’s life will be 2PM Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Perry with Pastor Josh Bell and Brian Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Red Rock Cemetery in Red Rock, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Martin Sanders, William Sanders, Brock Phillips, Kyle LaFoss, Troy Sanders and Blake Sanders. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Sanders, Darrin Lane, Dale Hayes, Richard Gray, Dannie Luter, Beaver Luter, Babe Dickson, and Harvey Ely.
