Roger W. Hobbs, Jr., formerly of Whitinsville, died Friday, February 19, in Falmouth Hospital after a period of declining health.  He was 87.  Roger leaves a nephew, David Dresser and his wife Debora, of Worcester and a niece, Pamela Allen.  He was predeceased by his sister, Janice Hobbs Dresser, in 2019.

Born June 13, 1933 in Whitinsville, he was the son of Roger and Evelyn (Kearnan) Hobbs, Sr.   After graduation from Northbridge High School in 1951, Roger served in the United States Air Force for four years.  Following his Air Force service, Roger worked as an accountant at Western Union for many years.  He later worked at, and retired from, the Marine Biology Lab at Woods Hole, where he started work as a security guard and later became their accountant.
