Ms. Janie Wilds, daughter of the late Janie Annie Douglas and Walter Wilds, Sr., was born January 22, 1927, in Hartsville, South Carolina. Our dearest mother quietly departed this life Monday, February 22, 2021, in her home at the beautiful age of 94. At the age of 12, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ at Nathan Temple F.B.H. Church, and truly loved the Lord. Continuing to grow in Christ, she fellowshipped with Second Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member, and served faithfully as church songstress, member of Pastors Aide, and Willing Working Hands. A mighty prayer warrior, she also served as a member of the Community Prayer Band. In the later part of her life, Mother fellowshipped under the pastorate of her son, Elder Walter Wilds. She attended the public schools of Darlington County, South Carolina. As a result of her generous and kind heart, she was loved by so many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so much, and her loving spirit will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Mother enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and the community. Blessed with nine children; 5 sons, 4 daughters, she so dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Annie Wilds; sisters Josephine Wilds, Luvenia Wilds, Dorothy May Wilds; brothers Robert Wilds, Walter Wilds Jr., and Freddie Wilds. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Betty Wilds James, Conyers, GA; Henry Wilds Rhodes, Winston-Salem, NC; Ned Wilds Sr., Hartsville, SC; Bernadine McLeod, Philadelphia, PA; Elder Freddie Wilds (Lila Mae), Hartsville, SC; Gladys Ridges, Hartsville, SC; Levern Wilds, Hartsville, SC; Elder Walter Wilds (Marcia), Hartsville, SC; Minister Nettie Jean Wilds West (Chris), Philadelphia, PA; 26 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 40 great-great grandchildren and other devoted family members and friends.
