Marianne Lynn Tunnell Vermilion, Ohio Obituary

Marianne Lynn Tunnell

Marianne L. Tunnell (nee Bailey), 64, of Vermilion, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a short illness with Covid-19 related complications. She was born July 14, 1956 in Elyria and she was a 1974 graduate of Midview High School in Grafton. Marianne was a life long member of Abundant Life Christian Center in Elyria. Formerly a dispatcher for the Vermilion Police Department for 16 years, she most recently worked in accounts receivable for Riddell in North Ridgeville for the past 16 years. Loved by many, her warm smile and infectious laugh will be remembered and missed. She enjoyed family game nights, animals, crafting, doing puzzle books, listening to country music oldies, pot lucks, and making her famous Mississippi mud pie. Adored by her children and grandchildren, she was a regular on I-71 with frequent trips to Kentucky where she enjoyed her favorite title of "Mimi". Known as "Mar" by many, she had a kind and compassionate spirit and would give anything to help others. Marianne had a great sense of humor and was quick to laugh. But above all, spending time with her family and friends was her favorite. You knew you were loved and close to her if she gave you a silly nickname. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Beavers of Pleasureville, KY and Ashley (Josh) Hay of New Castle, KY; son, Curtis (Kaye) Tunnell, II of Shelbyville, KY; grandchildren, Haylee and Hayden Beavers, Cole, Ryder, and Bronson Hay, parents, Donald R. Sr. and Janet L (nee Markel) Bailey of Elyria, OH; sister, JoAnn (Gerald) Mazzoni of North Ridgeville; brothers, Jeff (Cynthia) Bailey of Vermilion and Donald R Bailey of Elyria; and her ex-husband, Curtis Tunnell. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing. The family suggests memorial contributions to Abundant Life Christian Center, 306 Morgan Ave., Elyria, OH 44035 Online condolences may be made at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
