Mrs. Gloria Pilate Nix was born March 01, 1963 to the late Mr. J. C. Pilate Sr. and Mrs. Dora Lee Jackson Pilate.

Gloria was educated in the Sylacauga School system. Gloria confessed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and joined Rising Star Baptist Church. She joyfully affirmed her faith in Jesus and accepted His saving grace and mercy. Gloria was a member of a motorcycle club "One Love One Goal Riderz".

Gloria found the Love of her life Mr. James Alfred "Jim" Nix and the two were married on February 29, 1992.

Gloria was preceded in death by her dad, Mr. J. C. Pilate Sr., her sisters, Diane Pilate Holtzclaw and Carolyn Yvonne Hamilton.

On Thursday, February 18, 2021 Mrs. Gloria Pilate Nix departed this walk of life at UAB Hospital, Birmingham AL.

The memories made during Gloria life will always be cherished by her loving husband for over 29 years, James Alfred "Jim" Nix of Sylacauga, AL, five children: Lamontre (Kaylon) Pilate, Shekitla Cook, Richard (Jill) Cook, Jocelyn Seals and Matthew Elston; five grand children: Montrelon Pilate, Davrian Cook, Jayden Cook, Ouinn Cook and Laiklyn Seals; a loving mother, Mrs. Dora Lee Pilate; three brothers, J. C. Pilate Jr., Tommy Joe (Jane) Pilate, Dexter (Melissa) Cleveland; two sisters, Janet (Ray Charles) Stone, Nanette (Danny) Mitchell; eleven brothers in law, Jerry Holtzclaw, Cecil Hamilton, Elvis (Wendy) Nix, Calvin Nix, Benny Nix, all of Sylacauga, Wesley Nix, Temple, GA, Butch (Rita) Johnson NJ, Marvin (Robbin) Nix, Donald (Geraldine) Nix, John Nix and Derrick Nix all of Sylacauga, AL; two sisters-in-law, Cassandra (Rudolph) Varner and Tracy (Maurice) Johnson; three aunts, Mae Dates, Irene Nix Mack and Joyce Blankenship; two uncle, James Lauderdale Sylacauga AL, Larry (Shirley) Lauderdale from Hope Hull, AL, a host of nieces/great nieces, nephews/great nephews, cousins, and friends.
