George E. Fawcett, 84, of Bristol, beloved husband of Alma (Radke) Fawcett, died on Tuesday (February 10, 2009) at home. George was born in Bristol on May 8, 1924 and was a son of the late William and Jane (Wilson) Fawcett. A lifelong Bristol resident, he worked as a master stone carver employed by Bristol Memorial Works and Manchester Memorial Co. before retiring. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Europe as a radio operator with the 487th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Bristol. In addition to his wife of 62 years, George is survived by a daughter and son in law, Colleen and Kenneth Crusinberry of Bristol; two grandchildren, the love of his life, Conor and Kiley Crusinberry; a special niece, Holly Bunn Russo and her husband, Mark Russo; and a special friend and neighbor, Darlene Brown.
