James Michael Hervey of West Richland, Washington, passed away peacefully at home with family and friends on February 8, 2021. Jim was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Betty Sue and James Hervey on December 18th, 1969. Jim was the youngest of five children and the family moved multiple times throughout his life due to his father’s career in working for the railroad. He had two careers in his short 51 years of life, restaurants and senior living. Both careers lasted approximately 20 years and he loved every minute of it. Jim was a natural leader, a mentor and an educator. His love was overwhelming for the Kansas City Chiefs, his family and friends (we think in that order 😊). After years of searching and by trial and error Jim found the woman of his dreams and quickly made it a reality by marrying Barbara Duran on September 28th, 2019. In the short two years that they were together, Jim stated on multiple occasions that these were the best years of his life. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Brett Hervey also Wyatt and Rebecca Harrington (from a previous marriage), sisters Debra Aufenkamp and Theresa Prigge, brothers Ed and Mark Prigge. He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Sue and father James Hervey. Jim was an incredible friend to all, father to Brett and husband to Barbara. He left a lasting legacy as the executive director at Brookdale Richland Senior Living and was loved by all that he worked with and cared for. He was blessed to have had so much love and support until the end of his journey. A special thank you to the Brookdale family, Samantha Brazington, Troy Hendren and the Hendren family.
