Lois Nelson
Lois "Blackie" Leonard Nelson was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on Monday, February 8, 2021. Being one of twelve children Lois was born to the union of the late Geneva and Wilfred Leonard, Sr. Lois was the former wife of the late Warren Nelson, Sr. Loving mother of Warren, Jr., Tyrone and Gerald Nelson, Minister Sarone Rogers, and Joyce Nelson-Enclarde. Lois aided in raising seven children, Larkin, Sameka, Keshon, Lakeria, Lexus, Leilan, Aaron, and Anthony. Also survived by three sisters, Geraldine Woodridge, Clara Johnson, and Mona Sherman; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved twin sister, Joyce Leonard, one other sister, and five brothers. Relatives, friends, pastors, officers, and members of First Baptist Church of Verrett and other churches in St. Bernard and neighboring parishes are invited to attend the Drive-through visitation, at Charbonnet Funeral Home, 4917 Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092, on Friday, February 19, 2021, from 4PM to 6 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Verrettville, 3737 Bayou Road, St. Bernard, LA on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 12:00 PM. Visitation begins at 10 am in the church. Interment: First Baptist Church of Verrettville Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.October 19, 1946 - February 8, 202110/19/194602/08/2021
