Carol Fesemyer Rudlosky, 70, of Kent, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2021, surrounded by her family after a brave battle with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the blood. Born January 8, 1951, to the late Arthur and Jane Fesemyer, Carol grew up in Ravenna, where she attended Immaculate Conception school and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1969. Carol was a class officer and majorette in the marching band. After high school, Carol attended Kent State University, where she met her future husband, Bill Rudlosky. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1973 with a certification for Special Education. Carol began her career in education at East Liverpool High School, where she taught from 1973-1975. She went on to teach at Southeast High School from 1975-1989. While teaching, she earned her master’s degree and a professional certificate in School Counseling from the University of Akron and became a school guidance counselor. In 1989, she accepted a guidance counseling position at Ravenna High School. Carol’s continued professional development included completing the University of Akron’s Principalship program and earning a second Master of Education degree in 2009. She finished her career at Rausch Intermediate School, where she cherished the opportunity to influence younger students' lives. Throughout her 30 plus years as an educator, Carol’s caring and insightful nature positively benefited the lives of countless children. Post-retirement, Carol continued to serve others while working at Independence of Portage County and the Northcoast Medical Training Academy.  Her impact was felt anytime she was out in the community, where former students and families would share their stories and express their gratitude for her support. Family was a source of great joy for Carol.  She inspired her large, tightly-knit family to continue spreading her love for life with the world. Always the calming voice of reason, she was there to provide encouragement, instill confidence, and  offer guidance with unfailing positivity, even in her final days. She and Bill raised four children: Mark, Scott, Kevin, and Julie. Her pride in their accomplishments was apparent to Record Courier and social media readers.  Some of the best family memories stemmed from their many vacations together around the country. One of her favorite places was a family condo in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where they visited often. Carol and Bill took full advantage of retirement together, traveling the country and visiting national parks in their RV, often with their faithful dog Ty on board. They enjoyed watching their family grow, embracing their time with their seven grandchildren, whom Carol especially cherished. Carol is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, Mark (Alexandra) of Chagrin Falls, Scott (Caitlin) of Kent, Kevin (Jessica) of Westerville, and Julie (Patrick) Impiccini of Kent; and seven beautiful grandchildren: Brandon and Luke Rudlosky, Noelle and Isaac Rudlosky, Austin and Ava Rudlosky, and Carly Impiccini. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Wymer, Susan (Francis) Ricciardi, Becky (Dave) Kirby, Amy (Jim) Neely, and brothers David (Cindy) Fesemyer and Tom (Mary) Fesemyer, many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. A small private memorial is planned for the immediate family. A celebration of Carol's life is being planned for June 12, 2021, which would have been her 45th wedding anniversary. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Crossroads Hospice; to the incredible healthcare professionals of the Cleveland Clinic, especially Dr. Faiz Anwer, MD and Kristen Schlueter, RN as well as Dr. Sherri Barr, MD of Unity Health Network for many years of caring support for Carol. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Skeels-Mathews Community Center of Ravenna through Portage County Family & Community Services, Inc. or to the Independence of Portage County Foundation, also in Ravenna.
