Michael Sample was born on January 26, 1953 in Saginaw Michigan. He was the second of eight children born to Alma Sample and the late Allen Sample. He was preceded in death by his father Allen Sample, brother Carter Sample, sister Linda Sample, niece Denisha Williams, and brother Steve Sample.  Michael was educated in the Cleveland Public School system, where he graduated from John Hayes in 1971. After graduating Michael painted the interior and exterior of homes for a living. It was nothing for Michael to paint his mothers house inside and out.  Michael later joined the United States Army, where he served four years. He lived in Chatoohogue, Florida for several years before returning to Cleveland to reside.  Michael enjoyed good soul food, especially macaroni and cheese which was his favorite. Michaels’ favorite pastime was drawing, sketching and painting. He loved art and he was very good at drawing.  Michael would always say that he was writing a book. On February 14, 2021, Michael completed the final chapter of his book.  Michael leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Alma Sample; three brothers, Wayne, Stanley(Brenda) and Dennis Sample; one sister Brenda Sample and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 19, 12pm, at A. Ripepi and Sons Funeral Home, 3202 Fulton Rd. Cleveland (masks and social distancing will be required)  Officiating the service will be Pastor Anthony J.
