Richard Brent Crookes (Calgary)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend Richard Brent Crookes. Rick fought very hard, and after a long battle with cancer, passed away on February 11, 2021, at the age of 59, with family by his side. Surviving Rick is his son Grant; grandson Dax; father Grant (Alice and her son Darryl (Becky)); mother Linda Goss; sister Kim and her children Kaitlyn, Krista, Ryan; brother Peter (Jacky) and their children Steve and Travis. Along with numerous extended family members. Rick is predeceased by his stepfather Emmett Goss. Rick was the go-to guy for everyone, never wanting anything in return. Always willing to help others in any way he could. Salmo, BC was Rick's happy place. He loved to go there and spent many hours outside with whatever he could get his hands on. Salmo brought him peace and therefore is where he will be laid to rest. His many friends knew Rick at the Daily Reflections Group for his years of helping others. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten for his selfless work with so many. A special thank you to Brian Nichols for all your time, care, and support. We are forever grateful to you. A private family service will be held at a later date. To honour Rick's memory, please consider a donation to 1835 House (www.recoveryacres.org), which was very dear to him. "Endings are not always bad. Most times, they're just beginnings in disguise."
