Robert Frazier Jr.

Robert Lamont Frazier was born October 11,1972, in Kansas City, KS to Charlene (Bowman) and Robert Frazier. His parents and brother Brian Bowman preceded him in death.

Robert or ‘Lamont’ as he is known by his family, graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence, MO. After high school, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Emporia State University. After college, he began his career working in sociology and social service. While providing guidance and support to children in foster care, Robert pursued and obtained a master’s degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University.

In August 2002, Robert married Shari Lin Williams and to this union one child was born, Jalen Lamont. Later, Robert moved to Phoenix, AZ to enjoy the warm weather and new opportunities in social services. He then met Natalie Mesa and to this relationship a son, Jordan Lee, was born. While in Phoenix, he renewed his passion for refereeing football, basketball, and baseball umpiring. He was a proud member of Arizona’s only All-Black Officiating Crew.

To family and friends, Robert will be remembered for his sense of humor, refusal to moisturize, storytelling, his kid’s countdown clock, and outspoken personality which we all grew to love. Though he moved, his bond with his children remained his top priority. Each summer he hosted “daddy daycare”, providing an opportunity for his sons to bond, swim, go to the movies and taught them the importance of a lifestyle of fitness. Most recently, Robert started discussions with the boys on goal focus and post-graduation planning.

He departed this life on February 1, 2021 and leaves to cherish his memory, sons Jalen Frazier, Lee’s Summit, MO and Jordan Mesa-Frazier, Phoenix, AZ; one brother Steve (Cherhea) Frazier, Raytown, MO; god sister Teri (Kevin) Knox, Lee’s Summit, MO; nephews Brian Bowman Jr. and Dallas Frazier; niece JayDa Frazier; girlfriend Pam Kelk of Tempe, AZ; Jordan’s stepmom Amy Ralston, Phoenix AZ and a host of countless relatives and friends.

This service will be livestreamed.
October 11, 1972 - February 1, 202110/11/197202/01/2021
