Edward William Palkot

PALKOT, Edward 1925 - 2021 Mr. Edward William ‘Ed’ Palkot passed away peacefully, at the Innisfail Health Centre, on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the age of 95 years. Ed was born on September 15, 1925 in Stauffer, Alberta; where he farmed from the age of sixteen. On November 29, 1947, Ed married Ferna McNeil, and they resided together in Stauffer up until 1956, when they moved to Innisfail, Alberta to continue farming. Ed always took great pride in his work. He and Ferna won the Cliff Doan Red Deer County Farm Beautification Award in 1984. Farming was his life, and he drove combine well into his eighties. Ed was an active member of the United Farmers of Alberta and a board member of the Innisfail Rural Fire Department. He retired from farming in 1994; and remained in Innisfail, to enjoy curling, playing cards and bowling. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Linda (Ray) Smith and Marilyn (Bill) Howard; his grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Carmen (Derek) Abraham, Rhonda DeJong, Chad (Tina) Howard, Kristi (Curtis) Fisher and Kelsey Frank and his great grandchildren, Cade and Lelan Lamboo-Smith, Laura and Tanner Abraham, Hope and Bradley MacDonald, Diesel, Nixon, Octavia and Trinity Fisher, and Adalyn and Shylah Frank. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Irene Burke; as well as numerous nieces, and nephews, and his close family friends, Allan and Berna Couper. If desired Memorial Donations in Ed’s honor may be made directly to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
