He was the first of five children for his mom and the second of three for his dad.

Lynval attended the Enfield All-Age School as a child under the watchful eyes of Mr. R. Ellis, the then Principal. During his early teen he was successful at the Grade 9 entry exams where he gained entry to the Port Antonio Technical High School in 1976. He graduated from that institution in 1979. Like most young men in that era, Lynval was not able to find steady employment so he did odd jobs in and outside of the community.

Lynval was well liked and respected by his family and the members of the community especially his friends which he had a lot of, both males and females. Lynval was a kind, easy going and sociable person, he interacted well with both the young and old. He however had a quiet and private side to him which was known by those very close to him. He was a very independent person, not liking to be dependent on anyone for anything.

Lynval loved children but never had any of his own. This attribute saw him taking a keen interest in the happenings of those of his siblings. As a youngster he kept a keen eye on his siblings, especially his younger sisters and female relatives living at home where he lived. He was very protective and held his family in high regards.

Lynval migrated to the United States of America to be with his father Herbert in 1982, who passed away some years later. He visited the UK, where he spent some time with his Aunt Ivy now deceased, his brother Lloyd and his cousins and friends.

While in the states, Lynval continued with the trend from back in Jamaica of acquiring a lot of friends, kept in touch with those from back home who have since migrated to the states. Lynval have never forgotten a friend, some remained in his circle up to his passing and some became honorary father, brother and cousin. This proved how respected and loved Lynval was.

Lynval pursued a career in Electrical Engineering, this he did up to the time of his passing. He was an excellent Electrician and sometimes shared his finished work on Facebook. He had a gift of producing a remarkable finish to his work which was recognized by his peers and appreciated by his clients.

After a short fight with cancer, Lynval peacefully transitioned at 5:35 in the early hours of Friday, February 12, 2021.

Lynval was a proud, quiet, well liked individual yet humble person who made an impact on a lot of lives; this can be seen from the reaction and response to his passing by his relatives, friends and persons from the communities in Jamaica, Canada, United States of America and England.

Lynval’s passing will impact the lives of his mother Avril Brown, sisters Dahlia Brown, Arlene Brown, Dianne Brown Thomas, Noela Brown, Barbara Williamson and brother Ethburn Lloyd. Nieces Shaunelle and Keisha, nephews Marc-O’neil, Kemar, Steve, Ryan, Oneil, Kevin, Adrian, Jason and Damian. Aunts Sylvia Sutherland and Iva McCormack, grand nieces, grand nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Robin has fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith, hence there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge shall give him on that day and not only he alone but unto all those that longed for His appearing. [2 Timothy 4: 7-8]

‘Goodbye my Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and trusted Friend

We had joy; we had fun and our seasons in the sun

And our lives are forever intertwined

Be safe until we see you again’.
