John Meredith Myers

<p>John Meredith Myers was born on June 24, 1943 in Enid to Lena Ruth Collier Myers and Duane B. Myers and passed from this life on February 12, 2021 at his home near Aline.&nbsp; John moved to Aline 30 years ago, after retiring as Captain from the Enid Fire Department, serving for 25 years.&nbsp;&nbsp; On February 4, 1966 John married Linda S. Lackey in Enid.&nbsp; He served in the Air Force Reserves</p> <p>John loved the outdoors and all things nature.&nbsp; He was an avid gardener, fisherman, and hunter.&nbsp; He always had a four-legged friend by his side.&nbsp; John was a member of Aline Lions Club and First Christian Church.&nbsp;</p> <p>Those who preceded John in death include his parents, Duane and Lena Myers; brother, Lewis Myers; sister, Jean Alexander, and granddaughter, Jennifer Pippins</p> <p>Survivors include his wife, Linda Myers; five children, Melinda Myers, Johnny Myers, Lilac Myers, Sherry Dale, and Mark Dickinson; six grandchildren, Nicole Carrel, Jessica Richardson, Riley Cowan, Jasmine Hurley, Jordan Hurley, and Jessy Hurley; many cousins and nieces.</p> <p>A private family graveside will be held and a memorial service will be held at a later date.&nbsp; Viewing will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. &nbsp;in Helena.&nbsp; Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Helena.&nbsp; www.lanmanmemorials.com&nbsp; Face Book: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.</p>

I forgot John’s grandma ate a certain type of clay.  We called John the dirtman because he did eat dirt of some kind. He also had those homing pigeons that they would release and time them to get home I guess.  Loved that guy
