Virginia G Barany passed away February 1, 2021. Born March 7, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Walter A Buckley and Mary E (Clarke)Buckley. Her family moved to St. Petersburg, FL when she was young. She is a graduate of St Petersburg Catholic High School. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Schmidt (Richard) of Arlington, TN, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, Cousin Rose McGrail (Dionna) of Gulfport, and close friend, Susanne Drewett of Clearwater, and other family and friends. Virginia retired from Pinellas County Schools after working in the Accounting Department for many years. In her retirement she was an avid reader and patron of the public library. She also enjoyed going to community art shows and collected the works of local artists. Virginia loved working in her yard and was a friend to plants. She participated in all manner of exercise starting with a brisk three-mile walk every morning followed by bike riding or whatever was the class of the day at the Largo Community Center, it was how she socialized. She was a Mrs. Fixit and could repair just about anything with an engine. She was also a lover of animals, especially dogs and horses, and she always strove to help people who were less fortunate than she was. She has left a void and will certainly be missed.
