Mary Kathleen Mallia, age 66, passed away suddenly Friday, February 12, 2021. She was born Mary Snyder on July 8, 1954 in Baltimore, MD to Robert and Heather (O’Connell) Snyder.
Mary is a veteran of the United States Navy where she served from 1973 to 1976. While in the Navy she met and later married her loving husband and lifelong partner Joseph Anthony Mallia. They thereafter settled in Woodbridge, Virginia where they welcomed their daughter Janice Marie.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her granddaughter Nina. She loved people and could spend hours talking to strangers. She was a good friend, sister and caretaker to anyone who needed help. Mary’s smile could light up a room. Family was most important to Mary. Her life was a living example of kindness and compassion for others. She will always be remembered as a doting, mother, grandmother, and wife.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean, and brothers Michael and Patrick. She is survived by her husband Joseph, daughter Janice (Eric), granddaughter Nina, sister Robin (John) and all of those she loved and touched deeply.
