Carol Ann Feeney, 72 years, a resident of Old Orchard Beach, formerly of West Kennebunk, ME and Connecticut, died Friday, February 12, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born October 19, 1948 in Biddeford, ME, the daughter of Victor D. and Elise L. (Hamel) Bernier. Carol graduated from Baxter School for the Deaf in 1966 and she also graduated from American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT in 1968. She was a key puncher for Anthem Insurance and also worked at CVS in Bloomfield and Avon, CT for over 10 years. After she retired, she was a homemaker, and volunteered with Baxter School for the Deaf Museum alongside long-time teacher, Mr. William Nye. Carol was a long-time member of the Maine Deaf Senior Citizens of Falmouth, ME. She enjoyed doing puzzles and photography and had an extensive doll collection. Carol and her husband John traveled to 49 states and visited the graves of many different celebrities. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Carol was predeceased by her parents, as well as her seven siblings, Douglas, Robert, Ray, Donald, James, Paul. Gloria Bernier died on December 24, 2020. She is survived by her husband, John S. Feeney, Sr. of Old Orchard Beach; three sons, John S. Feeney, Jr. of Perry, ME, Leroy B. Feeney of Plainville, CT and Dale A. Feeney of Old Orchard Beach, as well as 10 beloved grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and her dog, Fluffy . A Double Graveside service for Carol and her sister Gloria will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, West Kennebunk, Maine on Saturday, June 12th at 1:00 PM.
