Karen Marie McHugh Of Vernon Hills Karen Marie McHugh was born on June 17, 1979 in Oak Lawn to Denis and Cynthia (nee Piwowarski) McHugh. She died Friday, February 12, 2021 in Libertyville. Ms. McHugh received an Associates Degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Karen loved dogs, supporting her sister during races, and traveling. She loved to spend time with her family, and she always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Karen is survived by her special four-legged friend, Pepper McHugh; father, Denis (Shannon) McHugh; sister, Katie McHugh; aunts and uncles, Tony (Evelyn) Piwowarski, Janet (Greg) DeWitt, Phil Piwowarski, Ann (Kevin) Shanahan, Kathy (Eric) Hoagland, Aiden McHugh and Connor McHugh; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia McHugh. A Celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date.
