<p>Rainey Charles Gray of Steelville, MO was born on Tuesday, January 11, 1944 in Steelville, MO to Charley Golden Gray and Dollie Ollie Oxendine Gray.&nbsp; He passed away at his home on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 3 days.<br /> <br /> Rainey attended Steelville schools, during that time he played baseball, basketball and was a pole vaulter in track.&nbsp; He graduated from Steelville High School in the Class of 1961.&nbsp; He married Ellen Whalen on July 28, 1962 and to this union a daughter, Nikki, was born.&nbsp; He joined the United States Army and served our country honorably during Vietnam.&nbsp; When he returned home, he worked at Brown Shoe where he met the love of his life, Judy Lane Missey.&nbsp; They got married at Courtois Baptist Church in Steelville, MO by Pastor Jerry Walls on August 30, 1969 and to this union two children, Joe and Penny, were born.&nbsp; Rainey accepted the Lord early in life and attended Huzzah Baptist Church.&nbsp; He worked as a butcher for IGA and Greg&rsquo;s super markets, then moved to Berryman, MO where he owned and operated the Berryman Store for a couple of years.&nbsp; He then owned Mac&rsquo;s Place and ran it for 27 years until closing it in March of 1999.&nbsp; Rainey enjoyed bowling and shooting pool, which he received many awards and trophies.&nbsp; He was a coin collector and lately enjoyed scrapping copper wire.&nbsp; Rainey was a quiet man, but could say a hundred words with just a smile.&nbsp; Most of all, he loved being with his family.<br /> <br /> He was preceded in death by his parents Charley and Dollie Gray; parents-in-law Joseph and Sylvia Missey; wife Judy Gray; sister Josephine Grubaugh; brothers-and sisters-in-law Viola Moses, Mary Mercer, Leona Missey, Donna Missey, Linda Missey, Charlie Missey, Lily Jarvis and Tex Ennis; grandchildren Andrew Villegas and Jessica Morales.<br /> <br /> He is survived by his children Joe (Amy) Gray and Penny Wilson both of Steelville, MO and Nikki Morales of Woodville, AL; grandchildren Shelby (fianc&eacute; Drew Courtouise) Wilson of Bourbon, MO, Malachi Gray, Levi Gray and Katie Wilson all of Steelville, MO, Ashley Villegas and Gabriel Villegas both of TX and Nikolas Villegas of Woodville, AL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Frankie Missey and Bill Grubaugh both of Steelville, MO, Diana Reynolds of Berryman, MO, Billy Missey, Virginia (Lester) Moses, Mac Jarvis and Bill Moses all of Potosi, MO and Eula Ennis of St. Louis, MO; special friends Sally Becker and John Hutchison both of Steelville, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.<br /> <br /> Visitation was&nbsp;from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral&nbsp;Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev. Alan Miles officiating. &nbsp;Funeral Service was live-streamed&nbsp;on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO&rsquo;s Facebook page.&nbsp;&nbsp;Burial was at Berryman Cemetery with full military honors.&nbsp; Memorials were suggested to the family to help with final expenses.<br /> <br /> Arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.</p>

Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev.
