Garry M. Goodwin, 74, of Vermilion, died Sunday, February 14, 2021 at University of Toledo Medical Center after a short illness. He was born April 25, 1946 in Minot, ND and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 12 years moving from upstate New York. Garry was a veteran of the US Army serving with the 77th Armor Regiment in Vietnam. Garry worked for Xerox, NY as a machinist for over 20 years and retired in 2011. He was a life member of Amvets Post #22 and a member of the VFW Post #7576. Garry enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and traveling, especially to the National Parks. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bobbye Goodwin of Vermilion; sons, Michael (Jennifer) Goodwin of Syracuse, NY and Frank (Lisa) Goodwin of Lakeville, NY; grandchildren: Garrett, Austin, Schuyler, Zachary, Darcie, and Kellie; and his sister, Kathy Dixon. Garry was blessed with many cousins, extended family, and dear friends that he loved very much. He took great pleasure in traveling over the country visiting them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Violet (nee Halstead) Goodwin and his brothers, Michael and Joseph Goodwin. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
