Roger Carl Prucnal Obituary

Roger Prucnal, formerly of Point Place, left this world peacefully, at the age of 84 on Friday, February 12, 2021 surrounded by the loving embrace of his wonderful family.  Born on November 2, 1936 to Joseph Paul and Helen (Tesznar) Prucnal, Roger grew up in North Toledo and met the love of his life, Suzanne Ostrowski through Toledo Council of Catholic Youth (TCCY).  Roger began his career at Toledo Scale but decided in 1972 to begin his own business, Alan Engraving, which he ran successfully for 35 years.  If you were to ask him his most important accomplishment and absolute greatest pride, he would say without hesitation his five amazing daughters.  Anytime he spoke about them it was with tremendous passion and a sparkle in his eye.  He would fondly tell stories of taking them on bike rides, having family picnics, going on family trips to Cedar Point, taking them out for ice cream, and building them an ice rink in the back yard.  He made sure to memorialize every family gathering, whether it was a birthday party, wedding, graduation, or just an afternoon gathering, by taking photos and movies which he lovingly organized and protected so they can be remembered forever.  Over the years, Roger was blessed with wonderful sons-in-law which he came to love as if they were his own.  As the years went on and the family grew, Roger was further blessed with a total of 13 grandchildren of which there are remarkably 4 sets of twins.  There is no question Roger treasured most those occasions when the house was filled with the joyous laughter of family.

Left to cherish his memory is his bride of 58 years, Suzanne; daughters Leslie (Mark) Tansey, Trina (Josh) Felber, Valerie (Gregg) Brown, Adriann (Phillip) Finkler, and Libby (Brandon) Sorosiak; grandchildren, Nicole, Heidi, Sara (Nate), Jacob, Logan, Lilly, Caleb, Owen, Mia, Cash, Roman, Brock and Reese; Sisters-In-Law, Lois Prucnal and Francine Ostrowski; Brother-In-Law, Norman Ostrowski and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia “Ginny” Munch; brother Daniel, Sr.; father and mother in-law, Casimir and Clementine Ostrowski; brother-in-law Robert Ostrowski; and sister-in-law, Christine Ostrowski.

The Funeral Mass will be Friday, February 19 at 11 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St., Toledo, OH 43615 with committal at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will also be livestreamed at www.littleflowertoledo.org.
