Wave L. Manning (Sandberg) nee VanderLaan, age 93, passed away, Friday, February 12, 2021 in Muskegon, MI., with family at her side. She was born in Ravenna Twp. MI., to the late Joseph and Evelyn (Hoefling) VanderLaan. Wave was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Sandberg and Gerrit Manning, son Terry Sandberg and daughter Susan Sandberg. She is survived by her son, Virgil Sandberg Sr; 6 grandchildren, Virgil Sandberg Jr, Patrick Sandberg, Christine Sandberg, Michael (Jennifer) Sandberg, Bryan (Michelle) Sandberg and Kimberly Sandberg; 6 great grandchildren, Kristin and Allen, Taylor, Nolan, Kevin, Brent and Kourtney; 2 great great grandchildren, Avery and Ellis; sister Darleen Stepping; 6 nieces; 4 nephews; many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Wave was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Forrest and Helen VanderLaan; sister and brother-in-law Doris and Joseph King and brother-in-law Henry Stepping. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, February 19, 2021 at St Luke University Parish, 10144 42nd Ave, Georgetown Twp. 49428 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Church, Fr. Bill VanderWerff celebrant. Burial will take place at St Mary’s Cemetery, 1915 Park St, Muskegon, MI 49441 following the Mass.
