Mary Juanita (Roe) Shepherd Harris, 96 of Barnesville, died Friday (February 12, 2021) peacefully at the Walton Retirement Home in Barnesville.

She was born April 8, 1924 in Kennonsburg, Ohio to the late Robert and Lela (Bates) Roe.

She was a 1942 graduate of Batesville High School and a member of the East Main Church of Christ in Barnesville.

She was first and utmost a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devout Christian. She had worked at RCA in Cambridge and T. A. Rogers Hardware in Barnesville. In 1963 she became a Shaklee Distributor and along with her first husband, sold Shaklee products for many years.

She loved traveling and gardening, especially growing cucumbers and pole lima beans. She also loved watching and feeding hummingbirds, always anxiously awaiting for them to arrive in early spring.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years Ralph Shepherd and second husband of 19 years Glen Harris,

two daughters Barbara Hartley, infant Evelyn Jane Shepherd, granddaughter Tiffany Herwick, three sons-in law, David Barr, Donald Hartley and Craig Herwick, four sisters Margie Hodges, Melba Flood, Myrtle Betts and Pauline Carpenter, three brothers, Charles Roe (who was killed in action during WWII) Dean Roe and infant Grant Roe.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Herwick, Sue (Brent) Fisher, Lynn Barr all of Barnesville, one son Gregory Shepherd of Old Washington, five grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Eltringham, Gwen (Wes) Crum, Matthew Hissom, Justin Shepherd and Michael (Whitney) Fisher, six great grandchildren, Ali Eltringham, Riley (Andie) Eltringham, Anna Crum, Cole and Caroline Fisher and Lucas Shepherd, sister-in law Betty Lou Roe, step-children, Dick (Sharon)Harris, Steve (Denise) Harris, Brent (Pam) Harris, John (Vikki) Harris, Lois (Roger) Sivard, Sue (Dick) Simons, several step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday Feb.17th at the East Main Church of Christ in Barnesville, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow. Evangelist Kim McFarland, and Evangelist Jeff Rich to officiate, burial to follow at Batesville Cemetery.

Family and friends are welcome, but due to Covid-19 MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Please take necessary precautions to ensure your safety, and the safety of others.
