William M. Kollar Obituary

William M. Kollar, Jr. 79, passed away on Friday, February, 12, 2021 at home. He was born April 3, 1941 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Vincenza (Corsino) and William M. Kollar, Sr. William served his country with the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1960-1964 aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Attaining the rank of AK3 he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed as an Industrial Engineer and Master Machinist and loved planning and building all types of things. He enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, (fresh and ocean), crossword Puzzles and reading and he ran in the Boston Marathon. William was a member of the U.A.W., N.R.A. and member of St. Rocco’s Italian Club. William is survived by his beloved wife, Sherri Affenito-Kollar of Russell, his late son, William Kollar, III and his sons, Adam Kollar of Louisiana, Samuel Kollar of Florida, Marcus Kollar of N. Carolina and Steven Ash of Connecticut, his daughter, Pauline Durand and her husband Bruce of New Hartford, CT. and their children, the late Christopher Durand and Katie Durand Drake of Connecticut, his son Michael Kollar and his fiance' LeeAnn Eazarsky and children, Dean Kollar, Steven Kollar and Maddie Wright of Connecticut, and daughter Sherry Kollar and fiancée Jeff Nicoletti of Naugatuck, CT and thirteen great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister-in-law and longtime friend Venerie Walker of Woodbridge, VA, his brothers, John Kollar and his wife Karen of Southington, CT, Martin Kollar of Hampden, MA, Wayne Kollar of California, his step daughter Peggy Hartmann and her husband Chris of Deland, Fl, and her children Thomas and Christian and step son James J. Mulcahy, PhD of Sunrise, Fl.
