Mother Johnnie Mae Wiggins Obituary

Mother Johnnie Mae Wiggins is affectionately known to many as "Beautiful", was born March 2, 1937, in Sledge, Mississippi to the Late Prince Lyles and the Late Nancy Guess.  She attended the Public School System of Sledge, Mississippi, and later relocated to Florida.   She later met the love of her life, John Wiggins and they were united in holy matrimony.  She was employed for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant and as a Housekeeper.  Johnnie Mae later worked as a Machine Operator at Lykes Pasco for many years where she met and made many friends.  Mother Wiggins accepted Christ as her Personal Saviour at an early age and enjoyed singing praises and worshipping God.  She served faithfully at New Life Family Church in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Jesse B. McClendon for many years. She later moved her membership to Damascas Mission Faith Outreach where she served faithfully under the leadership of Elder Robert Badger.  Mother Wiggins loved the Lord and served until her health declined.  She loved spending time with her family, her friends and her church family.  Those of us who are left behind will always remember her giant smile and the kind-heartedness that she showed to everyone she came into contact with.  Mother Wiggins departed this life peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021, in Zephyrhills, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wiggins; her siblings, Ester Burke, Corine McClinton, Charles Martin, Prince Lyles Jr., Roosevelt Lyles, Sammie Lee Boother, and  Johnny Lyles;  her niece, Gloria Jean; nephews, Wavery C. McClinton and  Sammie Lee McClinton; and grandson, John Bennett "Loo". Mother Wiggins leaves cherished memories with her loving and devoted children, Jessie Hicks, Herma Devonshire (Robert), Sue Coleman (Ray) and Jerry Coleman (Lisa); grandchildren, Shantele Coleman, Nikki Beasley (Rick), Utopia Wilson (Jeff), Sheleda Hicks (Sanchez), Harriet Hicks (Earl), Harry Hicks Jr. (Christy), Latisha Jackson (Darrell), Jerell Coleman and Perry Coleman; 2 adopted daughters, Pastor Delia Coleman and Trish Gideon (Terry); and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins;  special nephews, Tracy Boother and Kyle Lyles; special niece, Lynn Jackson.
