Eric Anthony Tremain Johnson Obituary

Eric Anthony-Tremaine Johnson, affectionately known as “Bubba” to some and “E” to others, was welcomed into this world on December 16, 1986, to the union of Yvette M. Johnson and the late Roger Lee Johnson. He was the youngest of their three sons. Eric accepted Christ at an early age. Eric, the son of military parents, had the opportunity to travel and experience various cuisines early in life. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, where he spent the first six years of his life, and learned to enjoy extreme heat and developed his love for all things Barbeque. He spent the next three years of his life in Monterey Bay, California, where he developed a love for water and all things’seafood. The next four years were spent in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado where he developed a love for the mountains and a great steak. Eric spent the remainder of his life in the south suburbs of Illinois. He attended and graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School, where he played football. Eric enjoyed sports, music, wagering a friendly bet and “attempting to rap”. He also had a love for cooking, creating recipes and above all else, eating, (LOL). However, what Eric enjoyed most of all was being a father to his children. He was truly beginning to enjoy his life, meeting new people, traveling to new destinations, accomplishing new hopes and new dreams. Eric will be remembered for the sparkle in his eyes, his infectious smile and nervous laughter. He had a bad habit of laughing at the most inappropriate times, that was his trademark. On Monday, February 8, 2021, that infectious smile came to an abrupt end. Eric is proceeded in death by his father, Roger L. Johnson; grandfathers, Earl Smith and Alfonzo Johnson; special brothers, Marshaun Black and Ulysses Pole III; uncles, Kenneth D. Berry, Curtis Johnson, Eddie Johnson and Alfonzo Johnson, Jr.; aunts, Christi Smith & Alma Bryant and many other special loved ones. Eric leaves to cherish his memory, his #1 fan, his mother, Yvette M. Johnson; daughters, Aleeyah, Alayah & Alasiyah Johnson; sons, KeAndre, KeShawn & Kelijah Johnson; sisters, Ivory Johnson, and Bre’ah Johnson; special sister, Jordan Lyles; brothers, Jason Berry, Treve’ Johnson; special brothers, Omar Donahue, Jason Cohen, Ramon Lyles, Kermitt Franklin, Ivan Carmona & Louis Clyborne; his grandmothers, Frances Y. Berry & Rosie L. Johnson; aunts: Qiana S. Edwards, Chelsea Smith, Shawna Berry, Kimberly Black, Lorraine Williams, Deborah Johnson, Barbara Johnson; uncles, Michael Johnson & Darwin Johnson, and many, many loving cousins, great aunts, great uncles and great friends, far too many to name.
