Phyllis Jean Meade

Meade, Phyllis J. (nee Vandekerckhove) Age 78 Beloved wife of the late Terrence R. Meade. Loving mother of Timothy (Christine) Meade and Tracy (Timothy) Chiappetti. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Ryan, and Kiley Meade, and Anthony, Thomas and Tori Chiappetti. Devoted sister of the late Michael (the late Connie) Vandekerckhove. Dear aunt of Kathi (Greg) Bein, Beth (Joey) Hundley, and Amanda (James) Britton. Kind great aunt, cousin and friend to many. Phyllis graduated from the University of Illinois, got married, raised two children, and taught elementary school for 38 years. In her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren and watching them participate in various sports and activities. She was involved with the West Suburban Teachers Union, IFT/AFT, serving as president of the Retirees’ Council. Phyllis loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips overseas. She was a big fan of the Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks and the Illini. In lieu of flowers donations made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959; or to American Cancer Society, 17060 S.
