Dr. James Michael Anderson, 49, entered into eternal peace on February 12, 2021 at his home in Clarkston, Ga. He was born in Abbeville, SC on July, 3 1971. He is the son of William and Carol Anderson of McCormick, SC.

Dr. Anderson graduated from McCormick High School Class of 1989. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Newberry College; where  he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He earned his Masters Degree from Clemson University and his PhD from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Anderson’s tenure  at Georgia State University as the Assistant Director of Disability Services spanned for sixteen years. He also worked in post-secondary disabilities for more than twenty five years. Dr. Anderson was President of AHEAD (Association of Higher Education) GA/HEAD, Chair of the Regents Administrative Committee-Disability Services (RAC-DS) and served as a volunteer with the Georgia Transplant Foundation on their Jumpstart Advisory Committee.

Dr. Anderson joined Saint Luke Baptist Church in Lincolnton, Ga at an early age and was an active member of New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church in Decatur, Ga., where he served in the Food Pantry Ministry with his dear friend, Tommisean Thomas and Senior Pastor Bishop James H. Morton.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother, William Bernard Anderson, his grandparents, Clyde and Lillie Anderson, six uncles and two aunts.

In addition to his parents, he leaves to honor and cherish his memories, his brother, Kerry (Charlene) Anderson of Grovetown, Ga his sister, Wyshica (Bobby) Williams of McCormick, SC, a special niece and nephew, Jasmine Anderson of Atlanta, Ga and Quewon Anderson of Grovetown, Ga, his maternal grandmother, Nancy B. Hawes of Lincolnton, Ga , six uncles; Earl (LeeAnn) Anderson of McCormick, SC, Alexander (Angelnett) Anderson of Aiken, SC Roosevelt (Rontonya) Anderson of Greenwood, SC and  Bill (Alice)  Norman of Tampa Fla., six aunts; Eva (Tracy) Hines and Mamie Lois Tate of Lincolnton Ga, Ann (Hallah) Banks of Augusta Ga. Jessie Barker of Freeport, NY,  Ida Jean (Bobby) Black of Darlington, SC,  Willie B. Anderson of Plum Branch, SC and a host of cousins and friends.
