Robert F. Harner

Robert F. Harner, 93, of Exeter, PA, formerly of Boyertown, PA, passed away on February 12, 2021, at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Fern D. (Reazor) Harner, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Pine Forge, PA, on November 28, 1927, Robert was the son of the late William E. Harner Sr., and Pearl (Schaeffer) Harner. Robert graduated from Pottstown High School in 1945, and then joined the United States Army to serve during WWII. After his time in the military, he began his career working for Bethlehem Steel, retiring after 30 years. He was an active and faithful member of St. Paul’s UCC in Douglassville, PA, Pine Forge Sportsmans Club in Pine Forge, PA, Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association in Oley, PA, and American Legion Post #184 in East Greenville, PA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be deeply missed. He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Robert C. Harner (Elizabeth), Oley, PA, and Randy L. Harner, New Berlinville, PA; his daughters, Valerie J. (& Todd B.) Spencer, Bechtelsville, PA, Janis L. (& Kevin O.) Good, Boyertown, PA, and Charlene M. (& Daniel T.) Perone, Gilbertsville, PA; his brother, David (& Barbara) Harner, Pine Forge, PA; and his thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Robert is predeceased by his siblings, Louise Trainer, Joyce Weidenbaugh, Marvin Harner, Reverend William Harner, and Merle Harner. Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s memory to: St. Paul’s UCC, 1312 Old Swede Rd., Douglassville, PA 19518. Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N.
