NORWICH – Joanne Marie Zaks, 67, of longtime Norwich resident, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the William W. Backus Hospital. Born in Beaufort, South Carolina on April 6, 1953 she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Ricotta) Adams. Joanne worked for many years as a customer care representative for UPS and worked part time at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in the Buffet. She was a wonderful and kind soul who always thought of others first and was a great mentor for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed doing her yard work, and spending her time with family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Jeffery Zaks; daughter Billie Jo Zaks; grandchildren, Kaylee, Matthew, and Nathan Manifold, Samantha Soulia-Zaks and Devleon Parent; great grandson Carter Wilson; and her sister Cheryl Toporowski. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Diane Adams Duvall. In accordance with her wishes funeral services will be private.
